For a while, we used to OSRS Fire Cape

For a short time, we used to have but there were many false positives together with posts that were not filtered, so it had been immediately removed. Our motives for wanting to filter these posts were to remove articles which have an abysmal phishing url (possibly putting different users in danger ) and eliminating posts which attempted to inquire Jagex because of help related to a hijacking after receiving these emails (Rule 7).

We might have the ability to improve our Account Help Wiki webpages by adding more advice while mechanically flagging these articles might not be sensible. The RuneScape Wiki has some information in regard to these scams as well as many others that are found inside and outside of Runescape. I see, I only find it quite sad to find some content developers post their OSRS themed articles or queries on here and receive basically rejected by the sub (who are often thinking about the other OSRS themed subs), though this sub is for both game communities as you stated.

Yes, they have connected to the sub by those who comment, but sometimes they tend to delete the article here and just keep it. If a reply doesn't work, perhaps a warning which appears before submitting? We know of the bottom to the OSRS sub at the Partner Subreddits section, but most people who post OSRS just themed articles, do not even appear there, since they didn't knew the presence of the 2007 Runescape subreddit and are thankful when the people who comment mention, its getting clear that the bottom leading to the sub on the side bar is not enough. I had thought the one could be hard to execute, props. On filtering uncensored phishing urls before thinking 16, I concur.

But yea in regards to phishing some more actions may have to be accepted, these malicious groups are advancing their ways to capture unsuspecting victims increasingly these days. I have even seen some poor attempts to phishing being submitted on this sub that result in fake forums and I am glad they have been eliminated before anybody fell victim.

The real problem with phishing posts may also be the spam that the sub will eventually get, phishing emails are sent in a wave to different emails of possible players, let's say like 10% of them have a reddit account, they will want to warn everyone else from the attempt and so there'll be many articles looking the same, all which can be oblivious it's been submitted earlier. It can eventually get dull. Which then can lead other people to dismiss a fictitious clueless player who is asking whether it's real or not, that is the reason why I suggested an automatic response of some type, a small warning to take caution or something like this. Also thanks for clarifying that the email to forward phishing mails has become over, I knew of this forum thread, but not the fact that they stopped the email.

I'm not sure that sums up the planned message. My previous comment explains why these two changes have not been made together with some information. The first being that Runescape is for its RuneScape community as a whole (not only RS3), and the second being that automatic filtering for this type of post was tried and found not to be possible to accurately accomplish. We're open to suggestions that could be possible to implement without detracting from the point of this subreddit and its own community.
