EA has been consistently providing upgrades to the mode since 2020, but it lacks the depth and immersion of other iterations of the concept with other sports titles. Although currently, the mode for franchises still doesn't have the same quality as players would hope the mode has seen improvements.
EA Sports has confirmed that it will continue to improve and support Madden NFL's "Franchise" Mode after reports indicated that the publisher would not announce any updates for the game. In a letter to IGN the spokesperson for EA Sports said more updates are coming as part of Madden NFL 22's live-service approach.
"We don't like to comment on rumors or speculation, but we're determined to continue to improve Franchise as element of our Madden NFL 22 live-service and beyond," the spokesperson said. "This is the case with two of the upcoming Franchise updates we'll be releasing within Madden NFL 22. We'll be providing more details regarding the updates in the new year."
Sports Gamers Online reported recently that EA Sports opted to cancel the next updates to Madden NFL's Franchise mode. Madden's Franchise Mode has been the biggest issue in the series over the years. Fans have been demanding more extensive updates to the mode , but not always getting what they require.
GameSpot's Madden NFL 22 review praised the game in part, for its "meaningful changes" of the Franchise game mode that include new weekly strategies.
