There was debate about Griffin and Andrew Luck in 2012. and there was some debate about Jameis Winston, or Marcus Mariota last year, however, this one differs. Those were highly touted prospects that were competing to be the top. There are a lot of good prospects, and there is no way to tell which has the greatest potential to be the best.

LaDainian Tomlinson thinks the Chargers should sell Philip Rivers. It is said that the Chargers are in rebuilding mode, and should be able to trade Philip Rivers instead of ruin his entire career. Does that sound like a realistic option?

It's logical on the surface of things. The Chargers continue to be, once more, an absolute disaster, having lost three games in agonizing way after blowing leads in the fourth quarter. Rivers isn't part of the issue. He's completing almost 68 percent in his throws. 7.8 yards per attempt with 1.110 yards. He has seven touchdowns, and only one interception.

The Chargers signed Rivers to a four-year extension of $83 million in the year, however it's the nature of his deal doesn't make it especially prohibitive for him to be traded. The cap isn't set to exceed $22 million until last year, and it's easy for a team to be able to get rid of it after the year 2018.

However, the Chargers really, really need every bit of support they can get ... something they're not getting enough of after going through so many losses lately including the Bosa standoff, and the whole alienating fans by threatening relocation. If they could get rid of Mike McCoy and make the appropriate moves during their offseason, they could become competitive sooner than you think. However, it's an enormous risk for an organization that hasn't accomplished much to improve its standing, on or off the field.
